Paintball or Airsoft ?

Keywords: paintball airsoft

rudy Why is Airsoft better than Paintball in your opinion ?

taktikairsoft No paint

rudy The question in reality is not about what is the best sport (everybody knows) but WHY we like it so much. No paint is an answer right. I would add "realism" and "length of games"

taktikairsoft I'm sorry to say that airsoft is only a tool in a game. You can play what ever type of game you want with paintball or airsoft. But it is true that airsoft makes it simpler to play re-enactments, milsim, training, etc. I would find it interesting to see speedball played with airsoft. As Paintball is more appropriate for that type of game.

Cartman For France, as airsoft guns are really less powerfull than paintball's ones, it does not hurt !

Meals I like the replica guns & paint is a mess & $$$$. But i do believe we will co-exsist & airsoft can learn a lot from paintball.

JimmyPage13 It's soo much cheaper, replica guns, shooting accuracy, less protection required.

Baka @Jimmy, the airsoft is cheaper? This is interesting... and of course isn't true. :) In our country (Hungary) we rarely talking about airsoft. The airsoft is just a tool (as "taktikairsoft" said). We can use this technology for the MILSIM (or realsim), what is more than a game, same like a military realistic training. This is not possible with paint. And I think that's why we all playing wargames. Without political affiliation, without ideology, only one is important: carry out the f**king task. The paintbal never will be more than a hobby, but the milsim (with airsoft ofc) can be a way of life. And please don't give weapon replica for childrens (PEGI 18). ;)

taktikairsoft Baka I like you comment on not giving airsoft to kids. But like anything in life if you want someone to learn about airsoft at a younger age it should be done with clearsoft and under adult supervision. This can be a learning experience between a parent and a OLDER child.

JimmyPage13 Baka i hope your not calling me a child, because if you are i might have to make look stupid. anywho, this says "in your opinion", so i gave my opinion. in America airsoft is much cheaper than paintball, and we don't always have extremely realistic matches. thats the beauty of airsoft: options galore!

Nark More emphasis on realism. Most airsofters don't have the swagger that paintballers do

Xupypr It's close to the real warfare then paintball -- more tactics, authentic uniform, gears and, of course, replica guns! =)

Joro And who is playing paintball, these days? :)

Robin-Hood It's like arguing CoD vs Battlefield. If you want fast paced 'arcade' run & gun then paintball/cod. If you want slightly slower paced more tactical gameplay then airsoft/bf :p

S3V3R I personally prefer Airsoft. I know paintball is a far larger sport (financially and player population) However, I feel that the people who play paintball are generally the kind of person who need proof that they were hit. This leads to a lot of players wiping stuff off and pretending as if they werent hit. Leading to a lot of dishonesty.
In Airsoft, because there is no marker, everyone is encouraged to be as honest a possible. You can usually tell the paintballers on an airsoft field because they'll check for a mark then carry on!
In terms of the sport, they are very equal, you cant argue that either is more "fast paced" or better because they both have the same number of pro's and con's. Any game type you can do in paintball, you can do in airsoft. You can even do Mil-sim in paintball if you're willing to spend the money on specialist paintball kit, right?

Commander Going to have to say just about everybody has good points. We can agree that at least there is something for everybody. I'm a milsim airsofter. My team, The Nightstalkers, just celebrated 15 strong years of milsim airsoft and it never gets old...realism, tactics, yes the gear..but most of all the camaraderie. So have fun whatever you do. Got to get going for some airsoft now. (victoriamilsim.com)

impactgames Naturally everyone who answers on Airsoft2 will say airsoft is better :)

I started airsoft in '96, and before did Paintball from '91. One thing I miss about paintball is how it hurt more, bruised more, and left a mess. Not because I liked those things but because as a player you REALLY didn't want to get shot so the skill level went up a lot faster. Because airsoft doesn't hurt as much or mess up your gear we're more likely to do stupid moves like rush into a house full of the opposition Hollywood style. I know because I'll do things like that myself :)

curef99 i came to airsoft after paintball and may be for 2 reasons: the ability to play on amazing CQB sites and to play during the week. I feel like airsoft player are way less agressif in the game due to the milsim and fair play type of game... for me airsoft is more for the fun and the RPG style whereas PB is more sport focus. but this is my personnal point of view. i like both, but being a dad, playing during the week make it so much easier to play.
