The most iconic rifle of the United States of America., the M4/M16. Developed by Eugine Stoner during the 50's. He wanted to create a rifle out of Aircraft-grade aluminum. There were many models he created, but the most revolutionary design was the AR-10.The rifle was a lightweight (7.25 lbs.) selective-fire infantry rifle in 7.62 x 51 mm NATO caliber. Though the United States military was not interest in the rifle. At the request of the U.S. military, Stoner's chief assistant, Robert Fremont and Jim Sullivan designed the AR-15 from the basic AR-10 design, scaling it down to fire the small-caliber .223 Remington cartridge. The AR-15 was later adopted by United States military forces as the M16 rifle where it was used in Vietnam. Rifles of the time were mostly wooden externals and metal internals so this new rifle was nicknamed the "Black Rifle" because of its distinct matte black finish. The rifle was superior to all its predecessors, but in time the rifles were showing problems. Issues of jamming arose because none of the soldiers were told that they needed to clean their rifles. After a pamphlet was released the rifle was back on its feet. The M16 was a rather long rifle so the M4A1 was developed for CQC (Close Quarter Combat). Since then the rifle has become very modernized now with numerous attachments and optics available to use.
It looks like any standard rifle whether it's a M4 or M16. Full metal rifle (Unless stated otherwise), adjustable hop-up, adjustable Stock, functional charging handle, and functional forward assist. ICS has one major difference than any other M4/M16 out there, it has a split gearbox. When I say split I mean it has an upper and lower gearbox. Think of a standard ver.2 M4 style gearbox which is split vertically and connects to be one solid piece. The ICS gearbox is split horizontally instead. These rifles open up like their real steel counterparts which means if anything breaks or wears down it will pretty much only happen in the upper gearbox and it can be taken out just like the bolt of a standard AR platform rifle. With the rifle having this ability to take out the upper gearbox with ease one can have multiple upper gearboxes for CQC and for Field use
Since this rifle is an M4/M16 it means you have multiple ways to customize to your liking. I myself own one though it was customized by its first owner which I love the finished product. The picture provided that has the vertically standing rifle for this section is the rifle of my own.
On field with my rifle I was able to "reach out and touch someone" with ease. It's very accurate and very powerful. My rifle is a DMR variant which means Designated Marksman Rifle which basically means it is a long range sniper-like rifle.
Overall, these are by far the best M4.M16 style rifles I have used. These rifles are the perfect ones available to players on a budget. One can buy this rifle and add to it over one's own time. Add a new barrel, an optic of one's liking, new spring, new stock, fore-grip, rail systems, or anything one can think of. When competing with players who have expensive rifles like VFC, KWA, or Real Sword an ICS M4 can hold its own.
