Pro's and Con's
I bought these boots one year ago at Maxi Ica Stormarknad (Swedish supermarket), I was in fact very shocked when I found such an excellent brand of boots at your everyday supermarket, I tried these on, and they fit like a glove.
The "Torture Test" is in fact my usage of these pair of boots, the torture test included the following:
Fire (stamping out fires)
Poop (horse poop, we have many horses)
Kilometers walked: 500
Coldest/warmest temperature of use: -30°C/25°C+
Results after complete torture test:
If you are as lazy as I am and only use a shoe-horn and skips untie the boots then the "hooks" that the shoelaces are tied to will bend up, these boots also exists in a loophole version, they cost a little bit more but the loopholes are much more durable then the hook version, I simply bended them down (as seen on picture) with a hammer and a solid platform (you can use anything that can force the hooks down).
These boots keept their extreme waterproof capability all the way through, even on the left boot that had some piece of leather loose, so there's a gap there, it did not decrease the boots waterproof capability the slighest, the leather may have been weakened after long exposion of heat (like a fire).
Leather hates heat and fire will destroy leather whatever brand the boot is from, a good advice is an old Swedish saying: Where butter melts, leater breaks! Simply store boots atleast one meter away from a fire.
The boots was cleaned by hot water and a rough brush, it did not catch a single scratch, it only took scratches from rooks or other solid surfaces.
Price: 399kr (60$)
Internal paddings: Yes, designed for wearing one layer of thick socks.
External costumization: Very limited, accepts some anti-slip ice nail attachments.
Kilometers walked: 500
Time of usage: 12 months
Damages: Hooks bent, bent back, slight scratches from rocks, leather loose from the sole, did not decrease the boots waterproof capability.
These boots are a true workhorse that litterally destroys the saying: "You get what you pay for", it cost about 1/3 the cost of Magnum boots and it works in fact better then Magnum Spider 8.1, these boots have taken loads of preasure that would have made any other boot raise the white flag after 6 months, for only 60$ they truely are worth every cent you pay for!
While running in deep snow (30-45cm) I actually reached a higher speed level than when I ran with running shoes on a running track, these boots are an top-of-the-line grade boots that are worth it's ratings.
