For my first review I'll be touching off on a not so lite LMG, This will take you back to a time when life was simple and there was a conflict down in south east Asia that sparked some.... Wait Lets not get into Vietnam. Lets talk about what the NVA and VC learned to hate, Good old fashion 7.62 550 BRPM! the M60 E1.
Hope you guys enjoy LCAT's first EVER airsoft review.
Well, One thing you will notice is this is a "beast" from external aspects it is 95% of the real E1, its heavier then its real counterpart by about 2 lbs, this is because the Gear box isn't made out of cheap pot metal parts, the gear box is a heavy steel fold.
I would like to say it was the most perfect AEG right out of the box... but I did need to do some upgrading, but when I upgrade I go all in it. I would highly suggest replacing the motor after your first use... it needs shims done right out of the box. I would replace the spur and anti-reversal latch after about 10,000 rounds. I personally upgraded to a full teeth steel/poly piston and down graded to 330-340 FPS with an M115, and a medium torque motor, with Titanium gears.
If you don't get a new inner barrel you will only be hitting tight groups at 50-75 feet.
So, It hits way to hard for CQB, and with some modification it can be a GREAT field gun.
The body on the A&K M60 is very well made.. but some of the screws can get loose especially on the hand guard and where the barrel and the body are joined.
All i can say for this is, go to a local hardware store and get some small tiny 1/16th spacers/washers and replace the ones that come on the AEG stock. The charging handle WILL come loose if you are to rough with it s try to remember... its airsoft not a real gun you don't "Need" to rack it.. I would highly recommended Tightening all of the screws on the body, especially along the hand guard and the point where the receiver and the front end join.
If your looking for a cheap way to make a nice quality LMG for a Vietnam or SEAL loadout the A&K is the way to go. It offers a platform to work on just under 350USD. With a little modification and love here and there the AEG will be shooting strong and accurate for a long time.
