Magpul MASADA PTS ACR
My First thought. this gun rocks.
I can finally hold my own against the high-end brands and have a gun that I'm proud of. And forget about the modern warefare Hype, This gun has its worth beyond the game. Sure, so what if I paid for the brand "Magpul" name, but I think it's worth it.
"The original Magpul Masada design represents an amalgamation of several recent rifle designs, incorporating what is considered by its designers to be the best features of each in a single, lightweight, modular rifle platform. Design features from the Armalite AR-18 (short-stroke gas system), the FN SCAR (upper receiver, charging handle location), the Heckler & Koch G36/XM8 (liberal use of polymer components), the M16/AR-15 (trigger pack), and the M16 (barrel, fire control group) are clearly prevalent. The rifle also includes several features developed by Magpul, such as a quick-change barrel/trunnion system, adjustable gas regulator, non-reciprocating charging handle, and storage compartments located in the stock and grip.[7] Just prior to the deal with Bushmaster, Magpul made additional changes to their design—the most obvious of these is the relocation of the ambidextrous operating handle to a forward position (somewhat similar to the Heckler & Koch G3 and Heckler & Koch MP5 series of weapons)" Sourced from Wikipedia.
Out of the Box
It's surprisingly light, easy to hold and move around, and very comfortable to use. This doesnt mean Cheap however, the upper receiver is CNC machined from aluminum and the lower is made from Dupont reinforced polymer making this gun extremely light and durable. The plastic hand guard is also dupont plastic. I can say from experience and use that it is really tough as nails type of plastic. I know, it's taken a beating so far in just a few uses (from field skirmishes to CQB ruffles) and barely shows signs of wear. There are QD sling attachments all over this gun and a metal guide for D slings as well.
Performance and Features
While i still hold on to the stock spring for CQB fields its quite easy to swap out springs before or in between matches. The housing of the gear boxs allows access to the spring from behind after the removal of the stock after punching out 2 pins and removing the hand guard to raise the upper receiver. Even when adding a new Spring like the 120 i haven't noticed the RoF being effect but it defiantly gave it 400+ FPS. The gearbox is a unique version 3 with a motor cage designed to keep the motor pinion gear in line with the bevel gear at all times. This gearbox also has a quick change spring function that will allow the user to change their muzzle velocity on the fly with minimal tools.

Hans17 Absolutely love my PTS ACR one problem I have having is the gun is only firing in Semi-Automatic. Even if I play with the selector switch I might get a burst if I am lucky but it always stops and then only fires once per a pull of the trigger..
Any ideas?

impactgames Are you guys having problems with M16/M4 hi-cap mags? Few reviews mention it but it seems everyone has feeding issues.

gatz I've mainly used Magpul P-Mag 75rds and 120rds mid cap ones with no problems and a high cap once or twice no problems. But not on a mainstream use.

gatz While its unmarked on the actually gearboxm everything i've read and seen indicates its a Version 3. It even says it in the manual that came with it. I'm assuming they must of changed it some time post production release just like they did with the flash hider. When did you get yours? And the motor cage, ive uploaded a picture of it.
